On December 28 2014, the Phase II of Duala Water Supply Project in Cameroon executed by CGCOC was completed successfully.
Duala is the largest city and the economic capital of Cameroon with a population of more than two million people. It is also a major freight port in central Africa. With the growth of urbanization and population, the existing water supply infrastructure cannot meet the water demand for urban development. On November 2009, Cameroon’s Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development and the Export-Import Bank of China signed a credit agreement that CGCOC as the sole contractor is in charge of the design, planning and execution of the Duala Water Supply Project (Phase II).
The grand project was completed as scheduled and provides extra 10,000 tons of quality drinking water to Duala residents, which helps resolve the city’s difficulty in water supply, reduce the diseases caused by lack of drinking water and improves living conditions of people in Duala and the whole country.
