The Startup ceremony of Rusumo Hydro Power Station was held

The startup ceremony of Rusumo hydro power station kicked off in 30th, March. Funded by the World Bank and African Development Bank, the project is located on the border between Rwanda and Tanzania. Ministers from Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi, representatives from the World Bank and ADB attended the ceremony.

Rusumo hydro power station will be constructed to ease the electricity shortage of three nations with total capacity of 80MW, benefiting over 1 million local population and reduce the air pollution brought by the thermal power. The project is planned to be completed by 2020.
