President Ji Weimin highly praised the outstanding achievements of the African Research Institute team led by Dean Liu Hongwu in the field of African research in China. He believed that the African Research Institute has made significant contributions to promoting China-Africa humanities exchanges and effectively made up for the shortcomings of China-Africa cooperation. He said that China Overseas Group and the African Research Institute have broad prospects for cooperation on the academic level of African studies and the specific practical level of China-Africa cooperation. Chinese companies have undertaken a large number of infrastructure projects and construction of industrial parks in Africa. It has made irreplaceable contributions to the "industrialization" and "interconnection" of African countries.
During the discussion, the senior researcher of the African Research Institute, former Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Ambassador Guert, Nigerian scholars, Executive Director of the Nigeria Research Center Dr. Mike and Somali scholars, Executive Director of the East Africa Regional National Research Center Director He Dan, Deputy Director Liu Yuan of the International Cooperation Office, and Liang Kedong, the head of Jinhua Vocational and Technical College, respectively delivered speeches on issues related to education cooperation and industrialization in specific countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, and Somalia, and the construction of international colleges in African countries, communicating sustainability problems with honesty.
