On October 10, 2019, during the China International Mining Conference held in Tianjin, Group President Ji Weimin attended the bilateral meeting between the Ministry of Natural Resources and the delegation of the Ministry of Mining and Petroleum of Mali. Mr. Zhong Ziran, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Director of the China Geological Survey and Party Leadership Group Secretary, affirmed the Group's mining work in Africa and emphasized that the Group's related work in Mali has played a positive role in promoting the development of Mali's mining industry. After the bilateral talks, witnessed by the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ji Weimin, President of the Group, Deputy Director of Yunnan Geology and Mineral Bureau, Chairman of Yunnan Gold Group Wang Jianqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Mining and Petroleum of Mali Susuhu Deng Bailey On behalf of the three parties, signed the "Framework Agreement on Promotion and Cooperation of Mali Mining and Oil and Gas Projects." The agreement stipulates that the Ministry of Mining and Petroleum of Mali entrusts CGCOC as the platform for the promotion of Mali's mining and oil and gas projects, making full use of the Yunnan Gold Group's mineral resource exploration technology advantages and strong investment capabilities, while attracting more Chinese-funded enterprises to Mali carry out exploration and development of mining and oil and gas resources.
Before the meeting, Ji Weimin, president of the group, met with the delegation of the Ministry of Mining and Petroleum of Mali at the headquarters of the group. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the fields of Mali mining and oil and gas, and reached a consensus.
