Ethiopia Kombolcha-Gundewein project an opening ceremony

On November 15, the opening ceremony of Ethiopia Kombolcha-Mekane Selam-Gundewein project was held in the Blue Nile Bridge. Demeke Mekonen, Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister, Gedu Andergecha, Governor of Amhara, Workineh Gebeyehu, Minister of Transportation and Communications Ministry, and Zhang Lin, Economic Counsellor of Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon.

The infrastructure of Kombolcha-Mekane Selam-Gundewein spanned across the Nile, with a total length of 315 km. It is an important link between Welo and Gojam areas in the Nile region. The Blue Nile Bridge is 294.2 meters in length, using AASHTO-2004 standard and new construction technology. It is currently the largest single-hole highway bridge in Ethiopia. The successful completion of this project has gained valuable experience for the company to undertake construction in complex geological conditions. It also greatly helps promote Sino-Ethiopia friendship and has great economic and social impact in Ethiopia.
